Development of prototype fans for use in explosive environments (ATEX)

Within the framework of the Operational Programme of the Recovery Fund “Latvian Recovery and Resilience Mechanism Plan 1.2. reform and investment direction “Improvement of energy efficiency” 1.2.1.2.i. investment “Increasing energy efficiency in business (including the transition to the use of renewable energy technologies in heat supply and research and development activities (including bioeconomy))” 1.2.1.2.i.2. measure “Development of innovative products and technologies”” SIA MASOC KC is implementing project No. 1.2.1.2.i.2/1/24/A/CFLA/008 “MASOC KC support for the development of green products” from 1 June 2024 to 31 December 2027.

Within the framework of the project “MASOC KC support for the development of green products”, SIA “MPP Tehnika” will begin the implementation of research project No. Z.2.2 “Development of prototypes of fans for use in explosive environments (ATEX)” on November 1, 2024.

The aim of the research project is to develop prototypes of 7 fan series that would comply with the requirements for use in explosive environments (ATEX certification standards).

The research project is planned to be implemented by December 31, 2025. The total cost of the project is planned to be EUR 397,500.00, including EUR 178,875.00 - funding from the European Union Recovery Fund.

1. Achievements in the reporting period
- Fan inlet manifold material defined
-Main dimensions have been defined for the newly created series and target electric motors and potential gear ratios have been selected.
-For modified fan series, the clearance between the fan rotor and the inlet nozzle has been defined
-A package of digital files of technical drawings has been prepared for the start of prototyping. A package of basic technical parameters and target technical specifications for the fan series has been prepared.
